This Privacy Policy describes how PDF Scanner ("the App", "we", "us") developed by NexLab collects, uses, and discloses information when you use our mobile application.

In short: your documents stay on your phone. Pages you scan with the camera and files you open, edit, or convert are processed entirely on your device and are never uploaded to us. The only data that leaves your device is described in the tables below.

1. Information We Collect

Files and scans you process in the App. PDF Scanner works with the PDF and image files you choose to open, create, or edit, and with photographs you capture using the built-in document scanner. All of this processing — scanning, cropping, merging, splitting, compressing, converting, signing, text extraction, and every other tool — happens locally on your device. We do not upload your file contents, scanned pages, or extracted text to our servers or to anyone else.

Information collected automatically. We use third-party services that may collect information automatically, as described below.

2. Device Permissions

Permission	Why we need it
Camera	To let you photograph physical documents with the built-in document scanner. Images are captured, auto-cropped, and saved as a PDF on your device. The App does not record video and does not access the camera in the background.
Storage / Files	To let you select, save, and open PDF and image files on your device
Internet	To show ads, verify and process in-app purchases, and report crashes

We only request permissions necessary for the features you use. You can deny or revoke permissions at any time in your device settings, though some features may not function without them.

3. How We Use Information

To operate and maintain core App functionality
To display advertisements that support free use of the App
To process and verify optional in-app purchases for premium features
To diagnose crashes and improve App stability
To understand which features are used most, to guide improvements

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. Information collected by AdMob, Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, and Google Play Billing is shared with Google in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy. These services may use data to personalize ads, measure ad performance, and improve their own products. We do not share your documents, scans, or file contents with anyone, because they never leave your device.

5. Children's Privacy

PDF Scanner is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

6. Data Retention

Files and scans you create remain on your device and are managed by you; we do not retain copies. Temporary working copies the App creates while processing a file (for example, when opening a password-protected PDF) are deleted when you leave that screen. Analytics and crash data are retained by Firebase/Google per their standard retention policies. Purchase tokens sent for verification are not stored after the check completes.

7. Your Choices

You can opt out of personalized advertising via your device's Ad Settings (Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization).
You can disable specific permissions (Camera, Storage) at any time in your device's app settings.
You can remove documents you created by deleting them from your device's file manager.
You can delete the App at any time to remove locally stored data.

8. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect information processed by the App. Because your documents are processed locally and never transmitted, they are protected by your device's own security. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
